The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority


REMSA is the exclusive ground emergency medical services provider for Washoe County, Nevada and we serve an 11-state western region with our air ambulance program. We are a private, non-profit, fully-integrated, pre-hospital healthcare provider.

We have accountability to the Washoe County District Board of Health and a volunteer board of directors comprised of healthcare and business leadership from across the region. REMSA’s response times consistently meet or beat the requirements and it is renowned nationally for its quality, performance and innovation.

Our Mission is to support our REMSA and Care Flight family by providing trained peers to confidentially listen, answer questions, and offer emotional support and resources in times of need

We are your peers. Team members have had specialized training to effectively listen, empathize, identify critical signs and symptoms, provide coping mechanisms and assist co-workers in obtaining the most appropriate resources to ensure everyone may continue to perform at the highest levels professionally and personally. What We Do
• Provide emotional support during and after times of personal and/or professional crisis
• Support those who have had family tragedies
• Support those who are ill or injured in the line of duty or off duty
• Offer helpful resources to employees and their families to help obtain the help they need

Who We Are
Heidi Weiss, LMFT, NCC

Heidi has been a paramedic for over 20 years and cam empathize with and assist clients who have worked under stressful conditions. Her unique background givers her a perspective on compounded stress and PTSD among first responders. She is trained in and integrates EMDR into her practice and uses on Brief Solution Focused Therapy, among a variety of other modalities.
