The Nevada Army and Air National Guard maintains a dual federal and state mission. The federal mission supports the nation with trained and ready units for deployment overseas, domestic contingencies, and — if ever required — homeland defense. The Nevada National Guard also activates during times of emergency, natural disaster or disorder in support of the state. Capabilities include, but are not limited to tactical airlift, firefighting, medevac, transportation, engineers, maintenance, medical, signal, communications, logistics, law enforcement and intelligence.
